My Girls

Well, here are the girls, Rebecca and Stacy.

STACY

Stacy

Stacy is my 15 year old. She is in the 8th grade this year. She is also being homeschooled. Stacy was also born here in California. She has attended public schools during her earlier grades (she came home during her 5th grade year). Stacy has cerebral palsy. She is unable to walk, or speak clearly, but that does not stop this girl at all. She is very determined to get what she wants out of life.
She was in a special day class from kindergarten through 3rd grade. In 4th grade, she went into regular education. But it was a trial and error year. Everyone at the school was adjusting along with her during the entire year. I don't believe they should have promoted her, but they did. I felt that she shouldn't have been promoted since she really didn't do that much schooling during that year. The school personnel were constantly changing things on her. She began 5th grade and at first things were going ok. She began feeling bad about school when it seemed like she was expected to do more than she was capable of doing. She was expected to do things like finish all problems on her math assignment when it would take her an hour just to do ten problems. Most of the assignments consisted of 30 problems. You can see where that would be frustrating for her. During that 5th grade year, she asked to be homeschooled. She was complaining that the school was getting too hard for her. The school was pushing her to be like all the rest of the kids in the class, and it was something she could not achieve in the ways the school wanted. In public school, she required the need for a permanent aide to help her, write for her, and many other things. Plus, she was constantly being pulled out of class too much for different therapies.
Stacy loves the colors pink and purple. Her favorite show is Lizzy McGuire and Full House. She enjoys being able to spend as much time as possible with her daddy, so she especially loves summertime for that! Stacy is not only a pretty girl but she has a great personality.

REBECCA

Rebecca is the baby of the family. She is 7 years old. Her birthday is in November. Along with the rest, Becky was born in California. She loves to watch Spongebob. She is a very busy child that really favors jumping on beds and rough housing. Unfortunately, bed jumping is not a good idea as she learned right before Christmas. Becky ended up breaking her leg. She is now cast free and was a good sport about it. So far she has not been jumping on the beds. She loves riding her bike, swimming, and playing with other kids. She loves to listen to music and really isn't parrticular to what kind as long as it has a good beat.
Becky is in First Grade this year and is the only one in public school. Unfortunately, she has been sick a lot this year. I think it has to do with this being her first year around so many kids and her immune system is like those who are in Kindergarten. She is learning to write her letters and read along with everything else like math and social studies.

Say Hi to Becky!
